In Year 8, every student at Yateley School has an exciting opportunity to shape their own learning journey.
Choose three subjects to study in greater depth
Deeper Study allows you to choose three subjects from six to study in greater depth throughout Year 9, going beyond the curriculum and really getting to grips with what you love.
The six available subjects are Art, Music, Dance, Drama, Religious Studies and Computer Science.
This is a genuine chance to pursue the things that interest and inspire you. Whether you are a creative, a critical thinker, a performer or a problem-solver, there is a combination of subjects that is right for you.
Making your choices
The process takes place in two stages: December, when you will indicate your preferred subjects, and March, when you will make your final, confirmed choices.
It is important to take your time and choose wisely. Deeper Study is a one-year commitment and, once confirmed in March, choices cannot be changed under any circumstances. That is not something to be daunted by; it is a reason to be thoughtful and make selections you are genuinely excited about.
Not sure what to choose?
That is completely normal. Talk to your tutor or Head of House; they know you well and can help you think through your options. You might also want to speak to subject teachers if you want to find out more about what Deeper Study looks like in a particular area.
Whatever you choose, this is your opportunity to go deeper, push further, and discover what you are truly capable of.
