Youth Support Services

Information shared from age 13

Once our students reach the age of 13, we are legally required to pass certain student information to Hampshire County Council and/or providers of youth support services, as they have responsibilities in relation to the education or training of 13-19 year olds. Parents, or pupils once they reach age 16, can request that only their name, address, and date of birth are passed to these services. Please contact the main office if you wish to opt-out of additional data sharing.

Biometrics and CCTV

Site safety and systems

CCTV

We use Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) across the Yateley School site to ensure the safety and security of our students, staff, and premises, and for the prevention of crime. For more details, please view our CCTV Policy.

Biometrics

We use a biometric system for our school catering. Under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, we require explicit, written parental consent to process biometric data. An alternative PIN system is always available. Please view our Biometric Policy for more information.

Your Data Rights

Accessing and correcting your information

Under data protection law, individuals have the right to request access to the information the school holds about them. This is known as a Subject Access Request (SAR).

Depending on the lawful basis for processing, you may also have the right to:

  • Object to processing of personal data that is likely to cause, or is causing, damage or distress.
  • Request that incorrect personal data be rectified, erased, or restricted.
  • Claim compensation for damages caused by a breach of the Data Protection regulations.

To make a request for your personal information, or be given access to your child's educational record, please contact admin@yateley.hants.sch.uk or our DPO.
