For many of our students, the natural next step is right here. Yateley Sixth Form offers a wide range of A Level and vocational courses, taught by the same staff who know you, in a community you already belong to.

Our sixth form is a place where students genuinely thrive, developing independence, deepening their knowledge, and preparing for university, apprenticeships, or the world of work. We think it is a fantastic option, and we would love you to consider it seriously.

Taster days and interviews

During the first half of Year 11, we run taster days that give you the chance to experience sixth form life first hand, sitting in on lessons, meeting current sixth formers, and getting a real feel for whether it is right for you.

Interviews also take place during this period, and we encourage all Year 11 students to go through the process, even if you are still making up your mind. If you miss the main window, do not worry. We always welcome late applicants and will do everything we can to accommodate you.

Other pathways and careers guidance

We know that sixth form is not the right path for everyone, and that is completely fine. Some students are better suited to an apprenticeship, which combines earning with learning and can lead to fantastic careers across a huge range of industries. Others may want to explore courses at other local colleges or education providers.

Throughout Year 11, you will have access to a full programme of careers support. This includes one-to-one careers interviews, our annual careers fair, opportunities to explore different industries, and assemblies and form time activities focused on next steps, CV writing and personal statements.

Start the conversation early. Attend the taster days. Go through the interview process. Explore your options with an open mind. Whatever you decide, make sure it is a choice you have made for the right reasons.
