Music Opportunities & Lessons at Yateley School
At Yateley School, we love giving students exciting musical opportunities! Making music is fun, rewarding, and a great way to build skills like teamwork, resilience, and confidence.
Music is for everyone, whether you’re continuing from primary school or trying something new. It’s a fantastic way to make friends and develop new talents.
MUSIC LESSONS We offer over 70 vocal and instrumental lessons each week. Lessons are mostly individual and last 30 minutes, with some shorter and group options available. Students get around 33 lessons a year.
LOGISTICS Lessons happen during the school day, so students may miss some class time. Timings rotate weekly to avoid missing the same subject too often. Sixth Form students must book lessons in their free periods.
Students are responsible for getting to lessons on time and checking timetables, which are emailed. Exams aren’t required, but they’re encouraged!
SIGNING UP FOR LESSONS Private lessons are available for Singing ,Piano, and Electric Guitar. Terms and conditions and application forms are at the bottom of this page.
For other instruments such as Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone or Drums visit the Musicscool website. Free trial lessons are available; just email info@musicscool.co.uk or visit musicscool.co.uk/yateley.
BANDS, ENSEMBLES & PERFORMANCES We have loads of musical groups at Yateley, open to all students. We perform throughout the year, in school and at community events.
Students can also form their own bands and perform at many school events. We also run special workshops with visiting artists; our most recent was with the Army Engagement Ensemble.
