Information for Parents
Year 7 Catchup Premium Strategy
The Literacy and Numeracy catch-up premium gave schools additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in English and/or Maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2). Our legacy strategy for using this can be found on our policies page.
Attendance
The school’s Attendance policy can be viewed on our policies page, please refer to it for more details regarding holiday and illness.
Behaviour
The Behaviour for Learning policy including anti-bullying, the rewards system and code of conduct can be downloaded below. Please sign the relevant reply slip and return to school at the beginning of the year.
Child Illness
If your child is clearly unwell in the morning, please do not send them to school in the hope they will get better during the day. Please telephone the school on 01252 879222 or email attendance@yateley.hants.sch.uk and notify us that your child is ill.
Deadlines
Students should understand the importance of meeting deadlines for handing in homework and assignments. Failure to hand a piece of work in on time can lead to a backlog of work and consequent problems. When work is set the deadline should also be noted. Parents are asked to support students in meeting work deadlines.
Health & Safety
A fire drill is held each term to ensure that students are aware of evacuation procedures. Form Tutors will explain these procedures at the start of the autumn term and will show students where they should assemble whenever the fire bell sounds.
Holidays
Request for leave of absence for the purpose of a holiday will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.
Homework Drop In
The After School Homework Drop in Facility is available for all students who would like to come and use the Library School Room to complete their homework or coursework. It is open every afternoon during term time from 3.10 pm to 4.30 pm
Late to School
If your child arrives at school after registration has taken place, he/she must sign a late slip at reception.
Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium is a sum of money given to schools for every child who has received Free School Meals in the last six years. We also receive additional money for children in local authority care, adopted under certain circumstances and for children who have a parent in the Armed Forces. Pupil Premium information can be found on our policies page.
School Books
Please encourage your child to look after the exercise books and text books that are issued. A record is kept of the condition of books when they are issued and students will be asked to account for any unnecessary damage.
