Dance
The Dance Department offers a powerful and expressive subject to study at GCSE level. It encourages students to develop their creative, physical, emotional and intellectual capacity, whatever their previous experience in the subject. The course is split into three areas: performance, choreography and dance appreciation. Students will study a range of professional works which will help develop their ability to critically analyse works. These works have been selected to broaden students’ knowledge and understanding of the wide range of dance choreographed and performed in the UK today.

The aim of this course is to help students to develop problem solving skills that support their success throughout the curriculum, to ensure each student has an understanding of different types of programming language and that they are able to program to understand how technology works.

The Drama department aims to deepen students knowledge and application of performance skills in order to be innovative, creative, theatre makers as well as performers. We want to prepare students for an ever changing world by sharpening their ability to work as a team (both as directors and collaborators)!
Food and Nutrition (GCSE) / Catering and Hospitality (BTEC)
Food preparation and nutrition gives students a sound knowledge of the importance of maintaining a healthy balance of nutrients in our diets and the importance of food safety, thus developing essential life skills.

The Languages curriculum at Yateley School intends to provide a rich and varied experience to enable all pupils to develop their linguistic ability and confidence. We offer the pupils plenty of regular opportunity to express their opinions on a variety of topics in both spoken and written tasks, with a key focus on spellings and pronunciation

The Physical Education department aims to provide our students with the skills and knowledge required to excel in an ever-changing sports society. Students gain dynamic skills for further education and go out into the sporting industries with the attributes necessary to be successful employees and leaders.

Religious Studies provides opportunities for learners to understand more about the world, the religious challenges it faces and our place within it. It will develop your competence in many skills and approaches whilst enabling you to become religiously informed and thoughtful, engaged citizens.
